The Herald's Christmas Cheer Fund collected R740 000 in 2006, the first time it has risen above R700 000 and exceeding the recording-breaking 2005 collection of R634 142 by 16.2%. Close on 200 charity and other community care organisations will benefit from the Eastern Cape's generosity.
