On Tuesday, 10 October 2007 at 8pm, e.tv's 3rd Degree will search for answers to a fiercely contested South African issue – Jackie Selebi's alleged links with the criminal underworld. When these were first exposed, no investigation was launched by Government into whether or not he is fit for office. But the Presidency has instead suspended and ordered a probe into the man who was investigating him, Vusi Pikoli. Is President Mbeki protecting Selebi and why? Can South Africans still have faith in a criminal justice system that appears riddled with politics? And how much does all of this have to do with the ANC's succession battle?
