After months of anticipation and waiting, Soweto Community Television has finally received its renewal broadcasting licence from the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) and will be broadcasting for another year (1 October 2008 - 30 September 2009). Force Khashane, chairman of the Soweto TV, said, “It's wonderful news. We regard the issuing of the licence as an inspiration to our team to perform even better than last year. We would like to thank ICASA and our viewers for the good support they have given us since Soweto Community TV was launched. We would do everything in our power not to let them down.”
