Below-the-line advertising agency Mick & Nick have recently bought a copy of Mise en Page: The Theory and Practice of Layout by Alfred Tolmer. Referred to as the "Deco Bible", the book was published in 1931 by the same publishing house that produced the renowned fine arts magazine, The Studio. From the Paris-based Maison de Tolmer publishing house, only 1500 English copies were printed, and it sold out in three months, regardless of the hefty price tag of £5. It was never reprinted so it has become somewhat of a desirable rarity amongst bibliophiles and collectors. 12 Nov 2009
