Designer - National Geographic Kids Magazine - 8 Ink Media

National Geographic Kids magazine is looking for a designer, based in Cape Town and reporting to the Editor and Production Director.

Responsibilities:
• Page and layout design for main book, supplements and advertorials
• Liaison with National Geographic Society in the United States on design requests and queries
• Liaison with freelance illustrators and picture libraries.
• Ability to work on creative concepts for brand extensions
• Repro liaison

Requirements
• A passion for magazines and creative flair
• An understanding for what interests kids.
• 3 years experience
• A recognised qualification in graphic design
• Experience in Adobe InDesign and other relevant computer packages
• A good understanding of English and Afrikaans would be an advantage.
• IT skills, with regards to the latest design-based software
• The ability to work under pressure and meet monthly deadlines
• The capacity to work overtime when required
