There's nobody there - called up by the computer
Over the past two days I have been the unfortunate recipient of two highly annoying phone calls.

Over the past two days I have been the unfortunate recipient of 2 highly annoying phonecalls. My phone rings - number unknown. I pick up and a 'friendly' voice chimes HELLO!
'Hi' I reply, only to be cut off as A RECORDED VOICE launches into a sales pitch - Do I want cash in a flash?
No, I would like to hit whichever bright spark thought I'd be happy to a) recive an unsolicited CALL to my personal cell phone, b)Actually LISTEN to the recorded message the whole way through.
What did they expect? That I would nod my head happily and thank them for getting in touch with me? I'm pretty strict about stipulating ' no contact' when asked for cell numbers / promotions etc.
I've received ads through sms before, which is annoying enough, but a phone call with a recorded message? If the invasion of privacy and utter waste of time doesn't get to you, the embarrassment of greeting a machine will! Needless to say I terminated both calls pretty quickly - but who's to say that's the end of it?
