Absa's appalling phone sales pitch
Do I have to put up with being patronised?

I just had the dubious pleasure of being subjected to an ABSA call centre "consultant" try to sell me an extra warranty on a brand new car.

The sales pitch, rendered by a woman who spoke to me like I was a mentally retarded two-year old, effectively also patronised me; littered with insincere concernns about my ability to pay, and drawing me pictures as to what would happen if my warranty runs out, was delivered in the scolding tones of an Afrikaans ouma and did nothing other than infuriate me by treating me like a child.

Back to the drawing board ABSA; speaking to female clients as if they're idiots or children will get you nowhere.

I much prefer the outfront sales pitch: Hi, we'd like to sell you a warranty. The bullshitting insincerity of a call that took up almost two minutes and which i eventually ended as it sounded like so much beating around the bush was a total waste of my time. and my time ABSA, is my hardearned money. If you want it - you have to do a lot better!
