You are not a graphic designer, yet you are required to create a brochure! What do you do? Where do you start? The workshop "Building brochures like a pro", presented by the Stellenbosch University Language Centre on 4 August 2008, will teach you some of the tricks of the trade and professionals will share some tips and insider information. Topics such as how to identify the audience, how to organise your information, what the best layout for your brochure is, costs of production and working with printers, production options and best practice, etc. will be discussed.
The workshop is divided into two separate sessions, namely The content and text of a professional brochure (morning session) and The production of a professional brochure (afternoon session). You can attend one or both sessions. Each session costs R625.
There will be ample opportunity to find answers to your own questions. You are also welcome to send one of your own brochures with your registration form, in order to receive practical suggestions and comments on your own work.
The presenters of this workshop are Dr Amanda Lourens and Mr Pierre Hollander. Amanda is an expert on the subject of document types and is the co-owner of a communication company. Pierre is the owner of an advertising company and has comprehensive practical experience in the design and production of marketing material.
