Virtual games are everywhere, but few know what it takes to develop a game, and there may just be a job opportunity for you.
Computer and videogames are everywhere, on our cell phones, television and even on internet pages of major companies advertising new product. But only a few know what it takes to develop a game, and it might just land them a job in that industry.
A two-week seminar offered by Friends of Design will introduce you to the production of computer games, the different departments working in a game development company and let you work on a project to give you a first idea about what it takes to work in the games industry.
The seminar will be held by Lars Espeter from Schwerin, Germany. As a game designer and producer he has been working in the games industry for twelve years now. In 2007 his mobile game Starshiptroopers: Roughnecks was awarded the title Best Mobile Action Game by a German developer and his edutainment game Mathemagus made it into the Top 15 casual games titles in the same event. Lars Espeter is the manager of the GameDesign Faculty of the Designacademy Schwerin, Germany, where he is also giving seminars in game theory and game design. --------- Course dates from 11 to 22 August 2008
Monday to Friday Mornings from 8.30 to 12.30 or Afternoons from 1 to 5 pm
