Advance layout and design

This course is aimed at people who have completed the introductory course in layout and design or have a good working knowledge of the basics of Adobe InDesign CS2.

In this course we will look at some of the more advanced tools in InDesign CS2 as well as some of the basics of Adobe PhotoShop CS2 and the way in which these two programs interact with and compliment one another to increase productivity.

But as the capacity to use software does not necessarily guarantee good designs, the course will also concentrate on using these as tools to produce intelligent, attractive and well laid out print designs. Participants will produce some components of magazine designs using the tools that they have learned.

Assumed knowledge:
Knowledge of the basic elements and principles of print design and the ability to use Adobe InDesign CS or CS2 to produce basic print designs, without supervision. Basic understanding of Adobe Photoshop would help, but is not a course requirement.
