Some more reasons here  by  BBJSportGuy
Check out what I wrote on my blog.

You will probably not agree, but is that not the point of a debate?

100% right  by  Bongs
I totally agree with u!The standard of both mediums has slipped dramatically.

And, there seems to be a whole lot of incest going on. We have radio dj's presenting TV shows, K-tv kids turned DJ's and TV hosts with their own radio shows, presenters swopping from Etv to SABC or SABC to MNET- WTF???

What ever happened to cultivating new talent?

Why don't they have open castings? They have deals with certain talent agencies, and only use "talent" from these agencies. The 5fm, Metro, Kaya fm DJ's all have agents- thats why we are no only forced to listen to them on the radio, we have to see them on TV as well.

Come on SABC,MNet,open the castings to EVERYONE- MAKE IT FAIR!!!!

Hit the nail on the head
I couldn't agree more!! we have lost the plot in this country, the problem is and I ask you this, how can a station manager of a formally powerful national station (5FM)and now just luke warm one be put into such a powerful position when she has no back ground in radio whatsoever, never been behind the mike herself, actually comes from a marketing back ground, she get to decide who to put behind the mike, can we blame her? not really, if I was offered a position purely to sort out gender quotations, I might take it as well...I feel sorry for the talented radio people out there who are forced to do other jobs because our country insists on window dressing.....IT IS SAD PEOPLE.
