Dave rocks. The article was well though out and totally inoffensive. A bigger storm in a teacup there has not been for a long time.

Run for office Mr. Bullard, you have my vote.

a good writer but hey it happens to the best, on the weekender they mension how the Sunday Times could not have stopped the column before being published. Think of the channels involved before stories are published, what do you make of it?

There are indeed various levels through which the article went before being published. It was not stopped at any of these, which leads one to two possible conclusions:

1. The editor & other folk involved did not do thier jobs, or felt the article was ok, (Which is was) in which case the editor should have been fired two.

2. The powers that be knew there would be an issue about the article and used it as an excuse to get rid of him.
