A.K and Bridget are only doing breakfast for april only, from there the new host comes in. there was a delay in contractual negotiations with dj sbu.

overall i think the new line-up has no fireworks. the only highlight will be Lee cause it will be like the resurection of Harambe on her show. Tholi b is also cool, not too sure about mpho maboi. pabi is a better host than her.

its all good though cause i no longer fit into their target market of 16-24yrs

I really don't understand what they are trying to do when it comes to the breakfast show, they should bring Sbu back ASAP otherwise this is the end of YFM as we know.

Yfm should might as well broadcast their brakefast show in planet mars. They have greater chace of listenership there than jozi from now. Get rid of bridget!!

From what I have heard from all the Y Academy graduate sound the same. The is a serious lack of creativity and freshness with that bunch.

Yfm should go and recruit from community radio stations there is loads of natural talent and creativity there not this institutionalised uniform sounding DJs............

The new Y-FM line up is a joke. While I appreciate the initiative to give young people a chance, I still feel it is a business and the new line up for me shows lack of business consideration. I have listened to a few of the young DJ's and some I must say are shallow. Remember the power of the media as a tool that also sets trends and captrues our youth. I feel through Y-FM we may end up with a youth that lacks depth.

YFM has over the years invested in Real talent... the fact that it’s a youth station doesn’t necessarily mean that they have to put immature young people on radio. There must be a balance between being young and authoritative. Most of these DJ's have no clue what's happening around them and cannot interact on an intellectual level with the listeners, yes it’s about the music but hey, are we insinuating that been young its all about music and so forth. For me up until they go back to the drawing boards and look into the caliber of previous DJ's such as DJ Fresh, Badboy T, and Rudeboy...Phindi just to name a few …… and look at what they stood for .....YFM must just forget about being a trend setter AGAIN!!!

I dont REALLY like the pairing up with bridget and AK on the breakfast show i feel that the are other people more deserving then her to be put on that time slot.And those twins just dont do it for me on an intellectual level. I agree that y-fm is about young fun people but employing djs with more brains wouldnt hurt.

Hi there,someone please clarify this:a couple of weeks ago MOVE magazine ran a story on dj Sbu and hi move back to YFM...did i miss something between then and now because i OBVIOUSLY havent hear Sbu on Yfm.Someone please shed some light.By the by, though i knew that the CEO being fired was a joke i actually wished it wasnt.

Honestly i dont think bridget deserves the b-fast show. No offence bridget i think you were doing great presenting the 3am-6am slot in 2005/6. But recently you not on point 4 me. You lost that spark. And as for A.K i think he deserves the slot. I have 2 say i ended up listening 2 Kaya fm because of bridget i was really bored"borementationalism"and i have To say big up 2 phat joe he proved me wrong. Hope yfm removes bridget From that slot.

Things evolve and Y is going through the same. All I can say is the management must be careful in not listing to the masses... in all projects there is a referral point (lessons learnt good & bad) I wonder if this philosophy is used. When Y was introduced it had to create its identity through a target market and that made it what it was. No matter how experienced a Dj can be if you not real and true and offering something worth while a person cant entertain that, I can go back and use referrals but that would take up all the forum space. To the Y CEO do not hide behind your (16 -24) target market thumb. Listen to the people. The website looks great, now that you have sorted out the image try to sort out your interior. The lady who does the morning show....I just don’t get you and your vocal point drives me of the free way...I am excited though its just that one has to accept that in like eskom you must exercise power saving mechanisms in this case find alternative for the hour (6-12) if you want info I suggest 702, if you want to be a save child (91.5), if you want to console your soul (tswedi, mhlobo, etc..); if you want a loud mouth (95.9) if you want to be reminded of your Sunday and June16(96.4). Either than that talent is not educated it is from within.

I have had a look at Y fm lately and with what lays ahead is a great challenge for most of us the youth. I am turning 21 this year and I would like to listen to my radio station the way that my dad listens to SA fm. So I will break down what Yfm is missing and what we used to know.

Yfm "the sound"
I love happy people and what they have to say half of the time. I want to talk about everything and anything that makes headlines, gossip, latest trend,cars and many things like oppurtunities where to go what to say, manners. Alot of things that revolve around being young. What i here what from Yfm lately is like a community radio station where it has one setting "youth" it is monotonous "music" there are no sound waves. It takes the youth for granted like "let us sell these youngsters sex appeal and glam" and Ya we will be hooked,...are we that shallow.

I hate saying "remember those days!". But I mean with the old team we had the different culture, sound, eloquent minds and views coming in. We had hosts for the introverts and bangers for the extros. Yfm was versatile then.

"Change"....I accept change infact it is what keeps us the youth alive and interested. But you do not want to appeal and your market but. The whole glam and half naked ladies makes Yfm look fickle by trying to go for the most blunt arrow, Sex appeal. Don't get me wrong all Dj's look hot.

Conclusion: I respect and like change, but the product being sold to me is not convincing enough that Yfm is representing me. It is more like they are presenting the easy come easy go kind of life and if you hang out with thier calibre, you can afford the glam life.

Go back to the drawing board and this time go in the streets and find out what we like before presenting us with sexy guys and girls.

Bridget does not have talent i dont know if being a runner up in a beauty competition qualifies one to be a dj.She is loud and makes no sense half the times .She was fine on saturday coz then i could just switch off till Oscar comes in.
As for the Twins come on Yfm is it about beauty or talent???
You were on top of your game when you had Lee, Fresh ,Bad boy T and Sbu.

I dont think Bridgett is the good choice for the show couse on the breakfast show these guys have too much competition with the other stations and realy she iritates the hell out of me with that voice i dont know if she is trying to be funny or what talking the way she does it sucks

And the Phat Joe "memeza" shod be available from now on - & Mpho 2 is doing a great job, starting 2 like her hanyane hanyane. oooh n as 4 CHILLI u a the man even though sometimes u become 2 big headed n arrogant*BUT IM FEELING U THOUGH!!!!!!!Lastly MOOOOOOOO! really dnt have any words, let me find some:MO IS REMARKABLE'OUT OF THIS PLANET out of breath now aaaaaah!
