I heard the other day that all taxis will be exchanged for Mercedes-Benz transport vehicles. What apparently will happen is that you trade your taxi in at a Mercedes-Benz dealership for R50 000.00 and with this R50 000.00 you then buy the new bigger better taxi from M-B for this amount. This will be subsidized to get the transport system safer and better. At least it will be a start.
I see that I'm not the only one that is in the dark! by Kgomotso
Yes, it's time we started discussing such issues. A large percent of South African do not have any clue on whats the way forward with the 2TEN cup. I mean with regards to matters related to employment, business and skills development opportunities. This event is for all South Africans rich and poor, but it seems as if only the powerful few have access to the relevent information needed to take advantage of this special event. So I pose this question,"How can one be competitive if he/she does not is not equiped to do so?"
I work in the mobile / wireless technology sector and I have read a few bits and pieces about projects getting started to investigate how mobile and wireless technology can be applied and leveraged around 2010 Soccer that was post SA winning the bid. I hope to see platforms for us all to gain access to what’s going on. Wake-up!! SA Government this is for all South African’s, individuals and organizations.
There is a website already that has offered accomodation for 2010 by Ugly(D)

Wake up people... just do what u can for the moment... the information is there... of cause the bigger sectors will have access to that, that's how it works...My friends and I have already started to invest our own money for the 2010... People need to realise that this is an open invitation to every1 in this country.
Even though that sounds fabulous, I doubt it will be the case. Does this go for all taxis? And if so, we have taxis on the road that aren't worth two cents let alone R50 000.
More Whites and Browns Needed at Local Matches! by Haq
How can we want to host a WORLD cup SOCCER when the percentage of Whites and Browns attending local soccer matches at the moment is appauling, talk about double standards. Is it that a majority of whites still favour rugby and cricket, and feel unsafe going to FNB stadium where the final will probably be.
CONTINUATION)))Are whites still feeling insecure in their own country? But asking the world to feel secure here in 2010 and that it's all good!I think that we need to readdress the issue, of our personal inaddequacies before welcoming a stranger home! PS I am Indian.
With the hosting of the Soccer World Cup here in South Africa in the year 2010 it was display, internationally, that the Black population of South Africa - who were evidently so anxious to create orderly protest during the apartheid years - are truely able to organize a historic event that will impact on the entire world. It will give the previously disadvantaged a name high above their suppressors in organizing a group event - the underlying fault of the Apartheid government. Uninting the world in an international event, will severly undermine the NP. So, give them some slack...they've had a hard time for the past almost 70 years and for them to have one even the bidding for the world cup shows imense character and huge achievement.
i think we are perfectly ready for 2010. i think the only problem with us is that we continiously look down on our countries capabilities. our country has hosted numerous international events which were successes. yes 2010 is a major event so was the rugby world cup which was a success. so let us not try to pull our country down every time it tries to put its self on the world map. please mzani
