We intend to speak to the Zulu Kingdom about the African Languages at the Loeries. We have spoken to the Loerie people about a catagory that caters for African languages, but we get brushed aside. We might end up drumming support from other quarters and make noise like it was made about quotas in Rugby; like it was made in Khutsong when they wanted their rights be attended to. I don't think we need another Pendoring.
That for us is like another version of Bantustans. If all South African can sing about Die Bokke, why can't advertising follow suit?

If an ad is deserving it'll win whether it's in zulu or tswana. Or venda. Or pedi. Or shona. Or croatian. Or even, even if there's maybe not even like a single word spoken in any language. Even if there wasn't a line at the end and all the writing was removed from the pack so it was a pack for all people.
Do you actually get creative points for a pendoring? Does anyone actually enter? Would you walk into Fallon, Or Amsterdam 180 boasting about one? I'm sure those guys over there by TBWA Paris in France are just gagging for one.
Some of my best friends are zulu. Others are croatian. And some of them live in france. One of them has been here. I, on the other hand, have never been to london.
Go make some ads in any language you like. If they're good they might win something. If not maybe they won't. Who knows. One can never be certain. I like your passion. Live the dream.
