So rather phone the companies you are interested in and ask them what, if any, internships they offer. Alternatively, take a look at the company websites to see if they offer any information. You won't get an answer if you're barking up the wrong trees
Seriously. Look at our comment. And I bet your email was misspelt too. And what is wrong with actually knocking on doors and introducing yourself and asking in person? Email is such a cop out - and you are like five minutes away from Media 24. Get off your butt and go meet people. You might get lucky!
Its pretty easy to apply for internship..... by johnysmith66
Hi, with internet on our side, its pretty easy to search and apply for internships.... or for a very sustainable jobs.... with websites like http://www.abacusrecruit.com.au, who help you in every way for your internship search, look no elsewhere....
You should take a hint from the latest plethora of MTN ads... GO !!!
It's no use emailing agencies. The advertising game works with contacts. AAA and Vega connects you with their buddies in high places, and that's how most cats get IN.
I had the same problem when I was searching for an internship during my final year as a commucations student. First of all do part time work on campus that is related to what you intend doing once you done with your studies.I did this and used it as a selling point in my interviews.Speak to people who are already working in the industry, this really helps alot. You should also now everthing that is happening in your industry besides the stuff you learn at schoolby subscribing or reading industry mags etc.Join industry associations etc be at events and workshops this is a good way to network with the big guys of your industry. But the most important thing is to never stop looking "good things dont happen to those who wait but those who gets's up and look for it" I promise you its not easy getting an Internship these days due to the thousands of marketing and communications graduates who are out there. So always make sure that you have better knowledge of your field than the person sitting next to you in that lecture hall!
I wish all those young black marketing, communications and media studies students good luck and success in this field that is dominated by you know who!
i am the person who submitted the first column asking how do we get inernships,i would like to apologize for the errors made in the first column and thanks a lot for the great advise,I have realized that i need to sell myself and ACT to get an internship. Thanks to those who were generous enough to show me that the industry needs confident peolpe who arent too lazy to act.Thans a lot.:)
