I know for a fact that some unprofessional headhunters place ads to see 'who's out there' and build up a list of potential candidates for future reference. It has happened to me, so please headhunters, don't all start denying it. I repeat 'some unprofessional headhunters'.

So make sure you only deal with professionals. Headhunters that actually interview you and understand what the job spec is and try to put round pegs in round holes. Headhunters that follow up and bother to give you the status.

I atually got two jobs from Biz but this was two years ago. I must say these days I am doubting!!!

I recently saw an ad for a PA position which interested me, and it had been posted (conveniently) by a recruitment agency that I was already registered with. I asked the agency to submit my CV; 24 hours later I received a call from another agency I'm registered with asking if I was interested in the same position! My CV was submitted to the company and I did actually get to interview stage (but sadly didn't get the job!)

We have hired 3 of our 19 staff via bizcom ads - the problem is that when you are advertising for a position you end up with sitting with so many CVs that you can't get round to notifying every unsuccessful candidate.

For success in the future try to ensure that your CV (and experience) is well suited to the position advertised - and find a way to differentiate your CV to make sure it stands out - adding a photo of yourself or a summary of your achievements is a good starting point

I’ve also applied for a multitude of jobs via this site and haven’t even received one call back…But mind you, it might be because I am a white Afrikaner Male. After attending an interview last year (not obtained via Bizcommunity) I was bluntly told by the personnel agent that “people like me” can forget to get work in this industry in South Africa, at this time, as every second Black candidate got a qualification in PR/ Comms. It makes you think doesn’t it, perhaps your race is wrong…

Right on spot!!I thought I was the only one..I always apply for jobs as well on BizCom but never get a reply or indication whatsoever..

We exclusively use the BizCommunity website when looking for people in the TV industry (have been using it for the past 2 years, with great success). We currently have 5 successful BizCommunity applicants working for us. I do however find that applicants do not bother reading the job ads properly and it is sooo frustrating. I try time and time again to specify that only people with a certain number of years experience need apply and without fail, people with no industry experience still send their CV's through. Don't waste your time! Only apply if you fit the description. I also find that people have unbelievably unrealistic salary expectations. I recently advertised for a trainee production manager and the bulk of the CV's received where from applicants with less than two years experience who wanted to earn in excess of R25,000 per month. That is unheard of! Advertisers are not that clueless with what marked related salaries are. Be realistic and be prepared to start from the bottom!

I agree with you a 100% about people starting from the bottom and working their way up!

The same thing has been happening to me only responses for other but not that specific field.

I do understand your frustrations, in most cases candidates dont really check in-depth requirements and just apply for the sake of applying. (2)Regarding the positions - i agree with you, some of recruiters re-advertise the same position more than ever and that makes candidates suspecious especially some of them are busy building databases when they should focus on assist with placements of suitable people than keeping your cv for future positions. i have worked for 2 best Recruitment Agencies that i would personally refer you to them, my experience with them, they dont keep cv's on databases unless its marketable and they always reply / acknowledge cv and will provide you with guidance and advises regarding your cv status. their e-mail addresses are consultants@morakebconsulting.co.za and the other one i will post it later on the site. U dont see any positions advertised continuously without getting feedback from them, those are professionals that doesnt disrespect or disregard canidates.

Try them, i know there are quite few Marketing positions they have, send them a mail and see how it goes...

i 100% aggre with u because i am i apply for jobs.for example a job like office assistant, that requires a person with basic computer skills,somebody who is organized,proactive and ect,which are the skills that i have,but still what i get is a big "UNSUCCESFUL" OR "SORRY" you don't qualify.plez stop advertising a job if you know that the is person in mind that can suit de post.

Yes, sorry - the jobs are real. I have advertised two positions here and hired two people. The problem lies in the hundreds of people who reply to the job even though it states that they need experience, a vehicle, etc - when they have neither??
Keep trying and try to make your CV stand out. Remember the hundreds of other people who are trying for the same position. Put in some effort, write a unique cover letter that shows your passion and expierence.
