I've just tried to call PRISA to upgrade my membership, but was disappointed with the poor service I received.
Firstly, the phone rang until kingdom come and when it was finally answered I was put through to some incompetent consultant who chatted to other people on another line while putting me on hold. I could actually hear her conversation with other people on another telephone line. I furiously dropped the phone as it was clear that I was never going to receive the proper attention I deserved.
On the other hand, I began to wonder if it was really worth the trouble to upgrade my membership for the year. PRISA still has a long way until it reaches the stage it is aiming to reach in terms of attracting more membership from PR consultants and practitioners.
I am not surprised that PR practitioners came in dribs and drabs at the recent FAPRA conference in Sandton. PRISA must first fix itself up if it wants to be regarded as “Thee” best PR institute or PR authoritative body in Africa.
i have to comment on the way the consultants are doing their job, i had loved to join PRISA but the service that i got made me to think otherwise, emailed the consultants to get some information, they did forward it to me only to find out that i had missed on the cut off day, i then asked if i could still join, the forwarded me the same information, which clearly shows that these people are really not competent at wat they are doing and they do not pay much attention to the information that they desiminate, i lost my interest and decided otherwise
Managing Africa's reputation is the most vital initiative when it comes to critical issues. PR Communication Strategist should shape people's ideas on economic progresses of Africa, democratic changes like the new general elections are to place in the DRC. Along by looking at information distortion of africa by mass media. One examle is, people abroad always see and listen to violent and corruption news in Africa. Good news about for an example the argument for new leadership government in South Africa after 2009. This can give the world an overview of marturing democracy in African countries.
