Here's an idea. How about awarding the "most accomplished student" - on that good old-fashioned basis called merit. But awards for blacks, just for being the most creative black person in the class is just plain wrong. And patronising.
Where do you come from, the Platteland or something? I'm not gonna rattle off on the whole cocept of awarding people opportunities to rise above their previously oppressive circumstances. I will merely say that you sir, are an ass.
