Mugabe is right?  by  nils

Jaki, to say :" Mugabe is right to pure Zimbabweans" is just like saying Verwoerd was right to pure South Africans! It may be true but not right. Define "pure Zimbabwean" please.

Are the Matabele people "pure Zimbabweans"? I think so. I do not think they believe Mugabe is "right" at all.

Has the U.N. done anything about what the Matabele had to endure since Mugabe came into power? Or was it not politically correct to admit that his "legal" regime is doing a worse job than the previous "illegal" regime.

Let bygones be bygones  by  Tso

President Mugabe should let it go, whatever was exposed of him should just be a turning point and prove the regorious Newspaper wrong, that is, if ever Sunday times was providing the public with incorrect information. The president rather re-open the state-owned and biggest newspaper in Zimbabwe, maybe that will provide a good platform for him to persue his personal agendas.A good editor who will not be biased towards government or parastatals is essential.

The UN knows the truth!  by  Joseph
The "big-mouth" UN is quiet in this issue because it knows that Mugabe is as correct as God knows. The media is misleading people on Zim issues,so what? let him start the real media people like South Africans need to develop, really develop.

U.N. is a lame duck?  by  niels
Joseph, to defend the U.N. and Mugabe, like you seem to do, is your holy democratic right, but you should try to be more impartial, objective and honest. Please treat the truth with more respect. The U.N. is either a lame duck or is trying to be politically correct (plain dishonest). They may in their deepest hearts of hearts know the truth, but they are to weak or weak-willed to do anything about it. Admit it man, Mugabe is bad news! Perhaps it is a bitter pill to swallow and to realise that Mr Smith, or some other leader, would have done a better job,if only they had mass support.

It also must be very hard to admit that some Colonial powers did a much better job in the world, including Southern Africa, than the so-called democracies that replaced them. Democracy may mean more "politically fair", but does not imply "politically and otherwise better".
