kenya decrees free HIV/Aids ads  by  constance
I think it is for a good cause, most people are influenced by the media . On the other hand advertisers might feel that they are losing out on their profit but is only to save the nation. Even here in South Africa or all over Africa the same route might be applied.

Way to go Kenya !  by  Pule
Ukhozi FM is the biggest radio station on the continent. KwaZulu Natal is the most affected area with HIV/Aids. Here is the means to challenge this frightening cause !!!!!

These radio stations must be mandated to allocate airtime to any legitimate organization for campaign purposes. Obviously application, management and related issues can be ironed out.

Media Reps from some South African based broadcasters are crowding the corridors at the regional Departments of Health with expensive airtime proposals. When will they realize that this epidemic is lager than their commissions? Legitimate agencies like Love Life would do much better on these radio stations (to complement their outdoor campaign). Imagine the clever talk shows, guest speakers, role models motivating listeners etc.

Its time media owners realize that the affected communities represent a big portion of their potential target market(s).

Clever Kenyans  by  Rudi Straueli
This is good move by Kenya. Remember when you have HIV it is like a rugby player using steroids. You have banned substance in you. You are not allowed to play. And if you don't play, you'll never make it to World Cup.
