Ghana 2008 Mobile Football Trivia game ignites fans

Starfish Mobile Ghana has teamed up with Tigo Ghana, an international mobile network operator to launch the latest Mobile Football Trivia Game which runs concurrently with the Cup of Nations Tournament. The trivia game was initiated to ignite African football fans to support their favourite teams and to expand their knowledge of the beautiful game.

Participants have to answer a set of general knowledge questions in relation to African football. The users have to initiate a request in order to receive their trivia questions. Participants will accumulate points for correct answers and stand a chance of winning numerous prizes including game tickets, jerseys, whistles, horns and pens.

Tigo Ghana launched the Football Trivia game for subscribers who love football and are excited by the current Nations Cup tournament taking place in Ghana. The promotion launched on Friday the 18th January 2008 and will run through to the 10th February 2008. “The response from a consumer perspective since we launched has surpassed all our expectations and we hope this continues throughout the promotion,” said Jonathan Hoehler, Head of Operations for Starfish Mobile International.

“The commercial launch of the Football Trivia has been successful as a result of the team efforts provided by both Starfish Mobile and Tigo Ghana and is the first of a whole range of mobile value added services that Starfish Mobile Ghana will be rolling out with Tigo Ghana,” said Mark Scaife, Business Manager for West Africa, Starfish Mobile International.
