The European Radio Awards (ERA) ceremony will take place on Monday, 5 November 2007, as part of the NAB European Radio Conference. For the first time radio professionals across Europe have the opportunity to participate in a pan-European radio awards ceremony, recognising the best achievements in radio.

With over 3500 terrestrial radio stations and thousands more Internet, community and satellite stations across Europe, ERA will showcase the best radio professionals across the continent. "The Awards mark a new and exciting venture in the vibrant European radio market and one which we know many radio professionals are looking forward to," comments Ian Carless, MD of the European Radio Awards.

"It is a real honour to be asked to be on the panel of judges at the ERA and it will be interesting to listen to the quality of radio across Europe. I expect to be judging three categories, 'Breakfast Show', 'On Air Talent' and 'Overall Programming,'" says Essack, who was recently asked to speak at both the inaugural Dubai Radio Conference and at the Indian Radio Forum in Mumbai.
