“We are proudly Namibian," says new Managing Director of Vision Africa, Cornelius D'Alton. "There has been a change of ownership at Vision Africa and we are now 100% Namibian-owned.” Not only is the company completely local, but the new majority shareholder is a Black Economic Empowerment company.

The new management of Vision Africa knows that black economic empowerment is an important policy instrument aimed at broadening the economic base of a country - and through this, at stimulating further economic growth and creating employment. Vision Africa employs a total of 11 permanent staff and more than 100 field workers and supervisors. The overwhelming majority of the field personnel and supervisory staff are previously disadvantaged Namibians.
Says D'Alton: “After a lengthy negotiation process we are glad to welcome our new shareholders on board. We are now taking the next step by building further on the company's excellent reputation and cementing our position as the leader in market research in Namibia. We have seen the opportunity for growth within southern Africa and have great plans for the future.”
The company has been up and running in Namibia since 1999 and is a full-service marketing and stakeholder research company that utilises scenario-appropriate quantitative and qualitative techniques to deliver accurate, prompt and insightful results within the African market. The importance of research, evaluation, and evidence-based learning will never go away in this lifetime. As new people, technologies, research tactics, techniques, and strategies enter the field, there will be a continual need to conduct research and to adapt to the changing times and needs of customers.
