SA production house shoots Zain, Mitsubishi ads

Jeremy Goodall and feelgoodfilms have been at the helm of the re-branding of Celtel to the Middle Eastern and African service provider, Zain and have journeyed through South Africa to Mozambique to produce a playful yet daring Mitsubishi ad.

ZK Advertising was behind the Zain campaign with a concept of aspiration told through an array of heavy post-production tools, producing a compelling film. Goodall solicited the expertise of American-based post-production house, Radium and Simon Mowbray, to ensure that the complex construction of backgrounds featuring a football star realising his dreams was believable and seamless. Goodall was adamant that the actual storytelling was not lost in the special effects and complex technical issues when shooting a commercial like this. The end result of the project is a piece where traditional storytelling and post-production merge without using effects for effects sake, overpowering the film.

Goodall then journeyed to Mozambique, to shoot the story of a baby chimp from being saved from being smuggled out of the country. This ad, presented by Mitsubishi and The Old Shanghai Firecracker Factory, crosses breath-taking terrains and culminates in a heart-warming ending. The campaign covered four high-performance vehicles where precision-racing drivers put the endurance and performance of the vehicles to the test. Goodall added playfulness with daring stunts and high-speed car chases to produce the end product.
