Concept Interactive adds Flash to their list of Adobe certified expertise
Issued by: Concept Interactive

Concept has re-affirmed their approach to the value of Adobe accreditation by assuring that they are up with the leaders of the pack and are currently one of only two training institutions in South Africa to have a lecturer with ACE (Adobe Certified Expert) status in Flash as well as being the second training provider with ACE in both areas of desktop publishing and web design applications.

Continuing in this vein, the goal of Concept and their lecturers is to demonstrate to the digital design industry how serious the company is on quality training by aiming for the status of the only institution with the broadest spectrum of expertise by gaining further accreditation in other more specialised Adobe software.

2007 Graduates
It is more obvious now than ever before that the quality of Concept's graduates' portfolios are of a standard that has the industry hungry for their employ. Despite the numerous requests for our 2007 graduates during the latter part of 2007, we have had to turn away disappointed companies seeking our students as the majority of second year students were working part-time whilst still studying with Concept for the last six months of their diploma course. Now in January 2008, we are proud to say that all our 2007 graduates are employed in some of the top design and web agencies.

Open Day for Prospective Full-time Students
Concept is having an Open Day on Saturday, 26 January which will enable prospective full-time 2-Year Digital Design Diploma students and interested part-time students an opportunity to view our past and present students' work, talk to our lecturers, experience the small intimate and friendly environment in which we operate and be able to discuss the various options relevant to personal and particular needs and requirements.

Also on show will be the work of the 5-month DTP and 5-month Web students – some of whom now qualify to enter the second year of the 2-Year Diploma course to acquire more knowledge in coding, programming, video and sound whilst having the opportunity to specialise further in either the web or desktop publishing environment.

Concept introduces new digital photography courses

Adobe Elements for Photographers
Concept Interactive (Cape) cc and Paul Sutton of Digital Memories have formed a partnership whereby students attending the photographic courses at Digital Memories will be able to extend their knowledge in the digital environment with a two-week part-time course in Adobe Elements at Concept Interactive.

Paul will continue to be involved in his students progress in order to give continuity to their learning process from the environment of traditional through to digital photography. Paul's students will be able to use samples of their work produced during his course when they are learning the digital aspect of photography thus giving them a fuller understanding of the advantages of digital versus conventional photography. Both during and at the end of the Elements course, the students' work will be assessed by both Concept Interactive and Digital Memories experts.

Cell Phone Photography
Many people nowadays own cell phone with a camera. But how many people know how to use the camera to achieve the best results? Do you know the format required for printing? Do you know how to archive your photographic library? Would you like to be able to improve upon and manipulate some of those photographs that have not turned out quite as well as you would have liked?

If so, give us a call and find out about our course that will give you sound knowledge in cell phone photography and basic knowledge of photo manipulation.

One-Year Learnership in Design Foundation
The 15 learners attending the Design Foundation Learnership at Concept have now completed their visual module and will be commencing their Elective to master the basic skills of digital graphic design using Adobe Illustrator. Concept will be looking to place the learners in the industry for four months experience in the work environment between 1 April – 31 July 2008. We would urge companies to fulfil an important part in this Design Foundation Learnership by offering a learner an opportunity to further their skills that may ultimately result in permanent employment between the two parties. This mentorship will not incur any cost to your company as the learners will still be receiving a stipend from the MAPPP-Seta for the four-month period.

Any company interested in availing themselves of this opportunity by offering work experience to these learners, please contact Latiefa on (021) 685 0750 or info@conceptinteractive.net.

Sponsorship for 2-Year Digital Design diploma
We have the portfolios of four or five learners who we believe merit such a sponsorship and we would be only too pleased to set up a meeting between ourselves, the candidate and anyone willing to participate at which time there will be the opportunity not only to see the individual's portfolio but also satisfy yourself in an interview that the candidate has the potential to contribute to your company on a part-time basis during the two-year course and thereafter full-time employment.
