What makes one business more successful than the other? The ability to harness information and utilise it better, faster and more effectively than the competition.
Toyota Tsusho Centre of Excellence (COE) has adopted the global best practice method of Assessment and Development Centers. Research demonstrates that there is no substitute to objectively observing and systematically measuring actual job performance.
A well designed assessment/development centre is the most effective tool available for assessing individuals in both individual and group based environments for either selection or development. In this context, centre is not a physical place, rather an approach which involves the participants completing a range of exercises which simulate real on-the-job activities, which enables us to observe and measure actual behaviour.
Various combinations of these exercises together with other assessment methods like psychometric testing (if applicable) and interviews are used to assess particular competencies.
The competencies used will depend upon the position requirement as well as other generic requirements which are normally consistent with the culture of the organisation. The relevance of each competency to be measured is determined through job analysis.
Assessment/development centres represent a significant departure from many traditional selection approaches which rely on the observer/selector attempting to infer personal characteristics from behaviour based upon subjective judgement and usually very little evidence.
Toyota Tsusho Centre of Excellence (COE) provides a complete range of Centre design and delivery services, which includes but is not limited to:
Competency Matrix Design
Exercise Design
Assessor Training
Candidate Evaluations
Detailed Feedback Report
We have the ability to design and manage the whole process, either by using established procedures and assessment tools or by designing entirely new systems and exercises specific to your organisation and environment. We apply scientific principles to every centre to ensure high levels of accuracy, stability and job relevance regardless of the level or position.
Some of the benefits of an Assessment/Development Centre include:
Builds sophistication, professionalism and scientific rigour in to an otherwise subjective process.
Assessors from other areas are involved in selection decision.
Enables candidates a better feel for organisation and it's values
Opportunity to create identity and reinforce company culture
Perfect tool for feedback and developmental planning.
Inflates predictive validity of the selection process to approximately 65%
