Appletiser set to follow Sex and the City with CineMARK

Beverage manufacturer Appletiser is set to advertise with CineMARK, the cinema advertising sales company responsible for the advertising sales of 64.6% of South African cinema complexes and 66.6% of South African cinema audiences, on reels preceding the Sex and the City movie releasing on 6 June 2008.

According to Claire Herman, Business Director at Mindshare, “Ster Kinekor screens are more prevalent, so from a reach point of view they make sense. CineMARK came to us with a completely integrated offering with additional cinema opportunities outside of on-screen, in order to amplify the campaign and maximise impact.

"Cinema offers big brand impact and is perfect when embarking on a brand campaign. This campaign will be particularly strong seeing as we are doing a holistic cinema campaign, incorporating many in-cinema elements - on-screen, sampling, premieres, foyer branding, etc. The Sex and the City movie fit is perfectly aligned to our target market demographics and mindset, as well as aligned to our brand personality and essence. If Appletiser were a woman she would be Sarah Jessica Parker.”

Appletiser's on screen commercial will be seen on 25 screens per week for the duration of the two-week campaign, and will run in three 10” commercials, and Appletiser will also be advertising on plasma screens situated in each cinema complex at refreshment and ticket stands. Appletiser-branded Rolla Banners will also be placed at the entrances to cinemas screening Sex and the City.

To complement the on-screen, plasma and Rolla Banner campaign, a sampling campaign, whereby Appletiser samples will be handed to patrons exiting the Sex and the City movie, will be implemented during the two weeks following Sex and the City's launch.

Appletiser has also chosen to brand popcorn boxes to ensure increased visibility of the brand and maximum exposure and frequency.
