Ster-Kinekor Junction for eastern Johannesburg

Ster-Kinekor's latest state-of-the-art Junction multiplex opens tomorrow, Thursday, 13 March 2008, this time in Kempton Park's Festival Mall. And to celebrate, the doors of the eight-screen complex are being thrown open to the public for a day of free movie-going.

Fiaz Mahomed, Ster-Kinekor Theatres CEO, is upbeat about the latest addition to the film exhibitor's growing network. “The opening is great news for people living in the east of Johannesburg, and is very much part of our commitment to offer world-class movie-going experiences to our customers, at an extremely affordable price.”

The open day is intended to set the tone for the multiplex's emphasis on fun and quality and is based on first-come, first-served basis. The following movies will be shown to the public for free from 10am to 8pm: Game Plan, Rogue Assassin, Mad Money, Mama's Boy, First Sunday, Taarezameempar – (Bollywood title); Step Up and John Rambo.

Follow benchmark

The new cinemas follow the benchmark set by other recent multiplexes in the Ster-Kinekor Theatres chain. Based on Ster-Kinekor's contemporary design, the eight cinemas has fully Dolby SR sound. In a major coup for the complex, two of the cinemas contain the finest sound system in the country – Dolby SRD Ex sound systems which are the highest format available in cinema sound.

The best quality projector technology available is also a standard feature across all screens in the Ster-Kinekor Junction Festival Mall cinemas.

Ster-Kinekor Junction Festival Mall will show all the latest blockbusters as they release on circuit, with tickets costing just R22.00 a movie. For Ster-Kinekor Movie Club members they can also get to see movies at just R11.00 on half price Tuesdays.

Multiple booking options

Like its sister multiplexes Ster-Kinekor Junction Festival Mall offers customers multiple booking and information gathering options: including Mxit, online bookings either on wap-enabled cellphone or PC at www.sterkinekor.com; or by calling TicketLine 082 16789 (value added service rates apply), or book in cinema at the self service terminals or box offices.

Furthermore Ster-Kinekor Junction offers customers various loyalty and benefit programmes – the Edgars Lifestyle Movie benefit, the Discovery Vitality Movie benefit and Ster-Kinekor Movie Club all give customers added value to their cinema-going experience.

Festival Mall is on the corner of CR Swart and Kelvin Street, Kempton Park, Johannesburg.
