Bumps, babies, parenting and inspiration all found at Baba Indaba 2008!
Issued by: Baba Indaba

What an amazing year in the baby and child category it's been for South Africans all round. The Baba Indabas are the busiest and best consumer events for the baby and toddler industries.

Baba Indaba in South Africa is the biggest live marketing channel to parents-to-be and new parents, and in 2008 drew in excess of 92,000 visitors over the four venues.

In four locations - Durban, Cape Town , Joburg and new for 2008 Pretoria - companies had the chance to come face-to-face with thousands of new parents and parents-to-be with huge potential spending power.

If you're looking to drive sales, build your brand, or talk to your market, The Baba Indabas are the perfect marketing vehicle for your business. With an attraction value of 225 000 visitors over four years - Baba Indaba! has established itself as a credible brand and informative expo. Mamas and papas are able to engage with leading brands face to face - the only medium that allows this interaction.

The various cities in South Africa had the opportunity of witnessing brand new products launched at Baba Indaba! Here the exhibitors experienced first hand what the impressions of the end user, i.e. mum and dad would be, before embarking on huge R & D costs.

"It is with great excitement that we launched our 2009 floor plans a few days ago and the inbox has been flooded with exhibitors renewing their exposure in the various cities," says an elated Show Director, Natalie Naude.

Winning the Best Exhibition of the Year again, has been testament to the phenomenal success Baba Indaba has enjoyed over a short period of time. The unfailing support from our title sponsor - SABC Education and exhibitors as well as suppliers, have been fundamental in this win.

Both the exhibitor and visitor growth has been exceptional, due to the extensive media coverage received from the media channels across South Africa. The loyal exhibitors of Baba Indaba has shown their faith both in the organisation as well as the brand, by renewing their stands with some clambering for the same stands in the different cities.

SABC Education Baba Indaba has been welcomed by the visitors and exhibitors alike with a total of 92 000 visitors during 2008. Growth was predicted for the year, but these figures have exceeded all expectations, says Natalie Naude.

With a small but exceptional team at the helm of the organisation, Baba Indaba has proven that one can grow fast whilst maintaining that personal touch.

With Christmas four weeks away, there is a sense of gratitude that envelops one and a big thank you to South Africa who have kindly accepted SABC Education Baba Indaba into their homes. We would like to believe we made a difference to your decision making process when purchasing that nursery, pram, diaper or maternity outfit.

We'll be back in 2009!
