Beauty Africa looks set to burst its seams
Issued by: Beauty Africa

Beauty Africa 2006 is off to an incredible start! The continent's leading beauty expo and the only one to successfully integrate professional and consumer exhibits and interests, will take place from 15 to 17 July at the Sandton Convention Centre, and already the show is filling up fast.

Once again, Beauty Africa will represent the full beauty spectrum with exhibits, seminars events and competitions encompassing hair, nails, skin, body, make-up, wellness and accessories.

Of special note this year is the introduction of the World of Hair, an exhibition hall devoted entirely to the haircare industry. This exciting move was, according to the organisers, necessitated by the massive demand from the hairdressing industry.

Comments Daryl Howes, Managing Director of owners and organisers of Beauty Africa, ITE South Africa: "The World of Hair will offer exhibitors a platform from which to showcase the latest and best products in the hair supplies and accessories categories and will feature an interactive demonstration and entertainment area. Adding to the appeal of what is bound to be a very appealing expo indeed, is the fact that it adjoins the competitions area, which itself has been upgraded and now offers bigger spaces, better lighting and improved visibility for spectators and participants."

According to Howes, further good news for the hair industry is the fact that the EOHCB and Beauty Africa are entering into a long-term agreement to build the Beauty Africa Hairdressing Championships to a level where it can comfortably compete with the best in the world, and new and exciting events are already being planned for the future. "This year, we are also pleased to announce that there will be more categories in the competition demonstrating the styles, trends and techniques for the Afro hair industry".

No doubt then, the Beauty Africa Hairdressing Championships, which is staged in association with the Employers Organisation for Hairdressing, Cosmetology and Beauty - (EOHCB - Southern Gauteng); the Hairdressing & Cosmetology Services Bargaining Council (HCSBC) and the Afro Hairdressing & Beauty Employers Association of South Africa (AHBEASA) will become a significant industry event.

The Discom Hair Extravaganza has become a firm favourite on the Beauty Africa calendar and promises to be the pulsing heart of the World of Hair. The Extravaganza is the definitive showcase for the latest innovations in afro-hair as well as the trends and the lifestyles of the movers and shakers that set them.

It's not all haircare at Beauty Africa though. ITE South Africa has announced that the Beauty Africa South African National Nail Championship will be endorsed and accredited by the International Nail Competition which takes place at the Beauty International Exhibition in Düsseldorf, Germany. With partners in 20 countries and on four continents, the International Nail Competition is the leading benchmarks in international nail excellence.

Participating countries qualify on condition that they hold their own competition according to accepted rules and regulations of the International Nail Competition. This is in-line with Beauty Africa's strategy to create an event where technicians in South Africa will be able to gain experience in a competition of the absolute highest international standards, enabling them to compete with the best in the world. In the future, the winner of the Beauty Africa South African Nail Championship will qualify to participate in the International Nail Competition in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Beauty Africa is as vast and all encompassing as the beauty industry itself. If there is one place where consumers will find the answers to their questions as to whether they should nip, tuck, treat, peel or pluck, then it's the World of Beauty! This exhibition promises to be thoroughly engaging and will cover the vast arenas of skincare, make-up trends, nails, body treatments and more.

The Trade Show at Beauty Africa offers exhibitors a broad platform from which to exhibit to their trading partners. In the fast-paced world of aesthetic beauty this kind of trade visibility, direct interaction between buyers and sellers and brand building opportunity is priceless.

Everyone who is anyone in the beauty world will be at Beauty Africa 2006 for the continent's annual beauty makeover. Spaces are filling up fast though, so make sure you don't miss the opportunity to secure your place in the spotlight at Beauty Africa 2006.
