Beeld now on TV

DStv subscribers now have a news service in Afrikaans. The content of Beeld is now available on DStv as an interactive news channel, the Afrikaans newspaper announced yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, 3 December 2008.

Beeld offers news when and where our readers require it - and in a format they prefer,” says Beeld's multimedia manager Ina Knott.

Beeld is also available on www.beeld.com for updated news and via www.beeld.mobi from cellphones.

To mark the introduction of the new service, viewers can participate in a competition on the new channel. One lucky viewer will win a large high-definition TV screen and HD PVR. The screen is a 40-inch Sony Bravia Full HD LCD TV. Installation is included. The prize is worth about R20 000.

Viewers only need to press OK on the remote control, go to “News and Weather” on the interactive menu and choose Beeld. News is updated throughout the day.
