Strategic brand agency Arctic Circle announced last week that it has been appointed to handle all brand development requirements for Optimal Energy, the privately owned company behind the development of Africa's first all-electric car. The agency's work is underpinned by a PR strategy implemented and managed by Rock Paper Scissors, also a small Cape-based PR consultancy.
Joule was recently unveiled to the world at the 2008 Paris Motor Show by Mosibudi Mangena, the South African Minister of Science and Technology.
Says newly-appointed MD Kim van der Linden, “Winning a client like this is big news for an agency of our size. All of us at Arctic Circle feel privileged to be playing such an integral role in developing this brand. We have so far produced the company's brand and communications strategy, as well as the name generation and creative logo development work on Joule, the name of the electric MPV.”
The Cape-based agency has been tasked with brand origination and implementation thereof.
