The future of printing is here today. Colour is king for a large section of commercial printing and gone are the days of huge print run-ons. Digital methodology is paramount and what you print gets consumed. These are just a few of the many powerful messages that Kemtek Print Solutions will deliver to its Cape Town Open House visitors on October 21st, 22nd and 23rd.
Kemtek recently moved its Cape Town operation to a modern and spacious facility at Unit B, Parc Du Mont, 20 Railway Road, Montague Gardens.
To celebrate this move, Kemtek is holding a series of Open House events where customers can get to see live demonstrations and speak to the manufacturers about their products and possible ways forward.
The printing industry is one of the biggest industries in South Africa. It is unfortunately also one of the most fragmented sectors, which often leaves the end-users and operators confused with a magnitude of choices. “As part of our ongoing drive to promote customer service and value-added offerings, we decided to hold this event,” says Kemtek CEO, Gavin van Rensburg.
Kemtek, in partnership with HP, Komori, Screen and Agfa will simulate a typical printing house - showcasing the latest digital and conventional press technology, workflow, proofing and plate making at its open house.
One of the highlights of Kemtek's open house will be the first live showing of Komori's new five-colour Spica 529P in the Cape. This new press was only officially launched at Drupa 2008.
Another first on show will be the Agfa Anapurna MV Large Format UV printer, aimed at point of sale and point of purchase applications. The Anapurna printer is complimented by the EskoArtwork Kongsberg cutting table range which accurately cuts profiles from digital data.
A seven-colour HP Indigo 5500 digital printing press will be running live to give customers a look into the myriad of applications of on demand print technology.
“Kemtek is proud to be able to offer our customers insights and trends in our dynamic industry as and when it happens. We are sure our three-day open house will be very successful, especially in these troubled times when quality and economic production runs are so important to customers wishing to provide cost effective solutions to their customer base. We hope that our customers and partners will use the insights gained during this event to make the right decisions for their printing businesses' needs,” concludes Gavin.
