Absa Card has launched an exciting new channel called Face to Face, as part of its aggressive business development focus. The first Face to Face site is at OR Tambo International airport with other airports planned for later in the year.
The Face to Face channel is being used to acquire new Absa credit card customers in the open market. The channel involves a sales team of four working from innovative and attractive Absa stands in the busiest area of the domestic terminal.
This sales team approach and educate potential credit card customers about the benefits of owning an Absa credit card. Screening questions are asked and, when the screening is successful, the lead is sent to the call centre for completion of the application process. Customers receive an SMS to thank them for their interest and to inform them that they will receive a follow-up telephone call to complete the application.
The promotion has been set up in association with Airport Activation, a division of Airport Media, who have recently been awarded the sole and exclusive display and promotion rights across all ACSA airports nationally. “It is significant that ABSA have chosen airports for their promotion,” says Debbie Lea of Airport Activation. “South African airports are seeing dramatic growth in passenger numbers. The worldwide trend represents annual growth of 6-7% but SA airports surpass this at around 15%.” Johannesburg's OR Tambo is the busiest airport on the continent with over 17 million passengers a year.
