Lanseria takes off with Airport Media
Issued by: Airport Media

Lanseria International Airport's management has renewed Airport Media's exclusive advertising and experiential marketing contract for a further five years.

“We are delighted that Lanseria have renewed our contract,” says Airport Media's Debbie Lea and Suzanne Roberts. “Passenger figures have increased dramatically from 170,000 to 600,000 in just two years. This makes the airport a highly desirable market place for marketers for advertising and experiential marketing opportunities,” they say.

Airport manager Gavin Sayce says that with the increase in passenger numbers and flights they are busy with various projects to ensure charter, scheduled and international passengers enjoy the convenience of flying to and from Jo'burg's ‘second airport'.

Safe, undercover parking is currently being more than doubled and golf carts have been introduced to transport passengers to their cars. Other developments at this conveniently positioned airport include a baggage carousel, upgraded departure hall and extended apron for Kulula.com's expanded usage of this world class international facility.

Kulula.com recently increased its flight frequencies to the Mother City in addition to daily return flights to Durban and Port Elizabeth and now East London. Air Travelmax too are planning new destinations. They currently have scheduled flights to exotic Vilanculos and Inhambane in Mozambique.

With its close proximity to the Northern suburbs of Johannesburg and Pretoria, Lea and Roberts are confident that passenger figures will continue to grow. “Lanseria International Airport has been appointed to handle the Fifa sponsors and players for the 2010 Soccer World Cup. This fact alone will make the airport a facility of national importance.”

The huge influx of aircraft, supporters, teams and sponsors will use the airport before, during and after this huge event.
