Given the sensitive nature of testing and counselling, clinics need to be able to reach out to communities and offer them a service that is as painless, in all ways, as possible.

Kagiso TV & Communications has been sub-contracted by the Development Bank of South Africa (DBSA) together with Health and Development Africa to conduct a social marketing campaign in three provinces where clinics have been upgraded to make counselling and testing for HIV more accessible.

The campaign is still in its first phase which is finding out if and how clinics are communicating with surrounding communities and how this campaign can build on those communication initiatives. The campaign should roll out in the three provinces – Mpumalanga, Eastern Cape and KwaZulu Natal from October this year and end April next year.
