MPowerFM management takes shape
Issued by: United Stations

No stranger to the radio fraternity, Bondo Ntuli has been appointed as General Manager of MPowerFM – Mpumalanga's first commercial radio station to broadcast locally from the region, which is home to four million South Africans. The first in ten years, MPowerFM was awarded a commercial broadcasting licence by ICASA in June this year.

“I am very excited about this opportunity,” says Bondo. “I believe that I have a lot to contribute to the success of the station and I also have a lot to learn about the people of Mpumalanga. It's a great opportunity, we will have fun and we are going to rock Mpumalanga.”

Bondo started his career in radio broadcasting 12 years ago and in 1998 joined YFM as a weekend jock. He soon became known as Big Black to many of his listeners as he moved up the ranks at YFM and was appointed Programming Manager in 2005.

United Stations, South Africa's premier media sales house has appointed Cecelia Porter as Direct Sales Manager for MPowerFM. Cecelia spent eight years in national sales with Primedia before relocating to Nelspruit. Already armed with a full sales team, MPowerFM will have a satellite office in Witbank and the rest of the team with be based at the MPowerFM studios and offices in Emnotweni Avenue in Riverside Nelspruit.

When asked about MPowerFM as an advertising platform in the region, Cecelia Porter responded, “MPowerFM is already proving to be a source to be reckoned with. Advertisers in the area battle to find platforms that reach this whole market. Remember, we're not selling airtime, we're selling four million pairs of ears.”
