Ligwalagwala FM warms up Joburg

From today, Thursday, 28 June 2007, Ligwalagwala FM began broadcasting live from the city of gold. “In celebration of the station's quarter anniversary, the station has pulled out all the stops, with the aim of invigorating [its] profile and giving the siSwati nation back its pride,” says marketing manager Mfundo Ntsibande.

On Friday 29 June, Ligwalagwala FM will broadcast its afternoon drive show live from the McCann Erickson office premises in Sunninghill. Other partners of this event include established record companies, Sunday World and SABC 1. Also expected to attend this occasion are the station's clients and partners, as well as various media personalities.

Actor and presenter Tumisho Masha will co-host the breakfast show with Ligwalagwala FM's Madumani from 6am – 9 am. Uyanda Mbuli will co-host the popular midday slot (noon – 3pm). Musician Kelly Khumalo, Thebe and other kwaito artists will add a dash of local Joburg flavour when they co-host the afternoon drive show, 3pm – 6pm with Gugu and Shabba.

The siSwati radio station, which has its roots nestled in the land of the rising sun, reports an an ongoing listenership of over 1.4 million.
