Kaelo – Stories of Hope CSI campaign expands into Indian market
Issued by: Kaelo Worldwide Media

Kaelo International has partnered with Network 18 to bring the successful local campaign on Corporate Social Investment (CSI), Kaelo – Stories of Hope, to life in India. This international expansion will be the forerunner of deals soon to be concluded for Australian, Brazilian and Nigerian markets.

The Kaelo CSI platforms, including a television series, book, print, online and radio features, were developed by Kaelo Worldwide Media to provide unique and effective multimedia opportunities to create awareness of CSI initiatives in a broad stakeholder audience. Now entering its fourth year, the South African campaign can demonstrate widespread success in terms of viewer response and engagement and new company partnerships, instigating further funding for projects and increased levels of awareness.

Kelvin Watt, Director of Kaelo International, says the initiative will have the same objectives in the Indian market. “The Kaelo model has been very successful in South Africa, highlighting social investment initiatives, sharing best practices and driving awareness of unique and innovative solutions for social problems,” says Watt. “We received an overwhelmingly positive response to developing the platforms in India, a country facing similar challenges to our own. We are pleased to have secured a solid media partner in Network18, which includes an array of channels with a massive audience reach.”

The Indian CSI series will appear on the following channels, CNBC-TV18, India's leading business network with a reach of over 80 million households; CNBC AWAAZ, India's largest Hindi consumer and business channel; CNN-IBN, India's leading English news channel; IBN-7, India's leading general news channel reaching the masses in Hindi. A total of 4000 promos will be aired across the network through the duration of the series.

Content will also form part of the CNBC Bestsellers, the best of CNBC-TV18's management and finance series on DVD. A special microsite of this series will form part of the flagship network websites. As a build-up to the launch of the series in September 2008, CNBC-TV18 will host two roundtable discussions on CSR as half-hour specials. Remaining multimedia elements will remain in place, produced for the Indian market.

“We look forward to showcasing the success stories of development brought about by corporate investment with our Indian production and media partners. Corporate Social Responsibility is a global issue and our proven model ensures that companies, causes, media partners and consumers all benefit from well-positioned communications.”
