“Great Expectations” was the theme briefed to Techrig by their client Collyer Lessick in respect of a year-end corporate event they were hosting on behalf of Dimension Data.
Techrig was approached to supply, coordinate and manage all the technical requirements for the Dimension Data staff and client year-end Function.
Held at The Forum, on the Dimension Data Campus, Techrig were required to ensure that the “Great Expectations” theme conceptualised by Collyer Lessick was reflected in every aspect of the event lighting, the sound and the audio visual components. Techrig's objective was to create an ambiance through the various technical components that would reflect the theme as well as promoting the Dimension Data brand direction of "Great people doing great things!".
Dimension Data's one night only engagement of "The Great Escape" was made up of four main areas: The "Green Light District", "Greener Pastures", "Great Expectations" and "The Great Escape".
These individually themed areas needed to reflect the different subjects which required lighting, sound and audio visual elements. These varied from an arrival area, exhibition area, cocktail areas, chill areas and the main stage with the dance floor. Theo Rood, known for his visually inspiring lighting design, once again wowed the guests not only with his creative use of lighting, but in the seamless coordination and integration of every technical aspect throughout the venue.
With Techrig staff spread across the magnificent venue, the lighting, trussing and rigging, audio, stage and sets and audio visual and lasers added impact and excitement to the entire event.
The collaboration and seamless effort of the Techrig staff ensured a synchronised and powerful performance on the night!
Techrig went beyond the ordinary in ensuring that Great Expectations were successfully executed for Collyer Lessick and Dimension Data!
“Theo, I just want to once again express my appreciation for the magnificent job you and your team have delivered to Collyer Lessick. You once again demonstrated a remarkable level of professionalism. Thank You.” - Neil Lessick
