The Coca-Cola dome, venue of choice for many international artists, will no longer allow any promoter booking the venue to use the services of Ticket Connection for ticket sales of any event hosted there.
This follows Ticket Connection's announcement that they will not reimburse patrons who bought tickets for the cancelled Josh Groban concerts. Instead, Ticket Connection informed the public that they must contact the promoter for the repayments of the tickets.
“The refunding of tickets is the responsibility of the ticketing agent as the payments are made with them,” says Sales & Marketing Manager of the Coca-Cola dome, Grant Medcalf.
“Should an event be cancelled for whatever reason, the patron should be the first to be reimbursed. Not reimbursing patrons when events are cancelled does not bode well for the industry and will affect patrons booking for any future events.
“Our main objective is to host world-class events and make sure that patrons who pay good money to have a good time have a great experience. This decision follows naturally from this objective. Until such time as Ticket Connection changes its viewpoint, our decision will remain in force,” says Medcalf.
Josh Groban recently cancelled his South African tour, due to the failure of the tour promoter. Groban promised to come back, staging a better than ever tour, but no date for such a tour has been set.
