Oil Africa 2006 experienced a unique activity in the form of the Siemens Business Matchmaking Program at this year's event. Through the program, all delegates and exhibitors were profiled, matched and meetings confirmed before the start of the event.
As the naming sponsor, Siemens enjoyed VIP status in the program, high-profile focused meetings and branding throughout the program activities and within the Siemens Business Matchmaking lounge at Oil Africa 2006. All participants were interacting with the Siemens brand whilst pre scheduling their meetings at the event and within the private meeting rooms in the Siemens Matchmaking Lounge. The Siemens Business Matchmaking Program took networking to a new level and increased the exhibition experience for all participants.
The results Outsmart Marketing actively pushed usage of the business matchmaking program through personal contact with each exhibitor and delegate. The result was a 90% occupation in the two Siemens meeting rooms over the show days and 209 meetings on the individual exhibitor's stands. The Siemens meeting rooms hosted meetings between high-profile delegates as well as Siemens specific meetings.
Most of the meeting requests were sent by exhibitors to meet with the high-profile delegates at the Oil Africa Conference. "This is the typical scenario," says Tracy Watcham from Outsmart Marketing, "in most conferences with an exhibition component. Exhibitors want to showcase their products and services to the delegates who are the decision makers."
Online Scheduling Once individually contacted and profiled into the Siemens Business Matchmaking Program, participants were issued with usernames and passwords for their private online diary. Via this online diary system, participants could view and select individuals they wanted to meet at Oil Africa. The Siemens Business Matchmaking Helpdesk was located within the exhibition hall to assist participants with their meeting arrangements and last minute meeting requests.
The Outsmart Marketing team was actively involved in pushing usage of the Siemens Program ensuring meeting requests were confirmed and running the meetings arrangements for many high-profile individuals who don't have the time to log into diary systems.
