e-Commerce development wages war against rising fuel costs
Issued by: Forge

Rising fuel costs are forcing business owners to rethink old sales and marketing techniques such as door-to-door sales. Likewise, customers too are looking for ways to keep car travel down to a minimum and are looking for alternative ways to meet their shopping and business needs.

Existing offline businesses that currently rely on travelling sales people or on in-store visitors are starting to feel the pinch as spiralling fuel prices affect their businesses.

Savvy companies have however cottoned on to the fact that they can cost-effectively transform their businesses through e-commerce.

ForgeCommerce, e Forge e-commerce enablement business has designed an e-commerce solution that enables businesses without a significant web or e-commerce presence to market themselves using the Internet. The e-Store Advantage professional edition provides a platform for business owners to grow their business or begin a new online business without any capital outlays, equipment or servers.

The e-Store Advantage, described as “impressive” by Tracy Eccles, Marketing Manager of Falcon Africa Safaris, contains a fully Search Engine friendly website, blog and shopping cart for businesses to market their existing products to customers online. “Our product is designed to engage customers by allowing your clients to browse, select products and buy online without having to visit your store,” says Kevin Rolfe, Director at ForgeBusiness. “We will transform your business into an online powerhouse by adding a guaranteed best in breed online store to your business.”

Companies that will benefit from the e-Store Advantage are companies that have commercial or retail products. The greater the repeat customer purchases and the greater the loyalty base is of customers, the greater impact the e-Store Advantage will have on the sales.

Key features of the e-Store Advantage are customised site templates that are easy-to-use; content management system for updates; commenting capability to engage your site visitors (which can be switched on and off); integrated Shopping Cart for one-click purchases, among others. Training is provided so that the business owner can maintain and add content to their website and shopping cart.

By targeting customers online, a business can expand a customer base to include outlying areas previously out of reach. The Multicurrency capability function of e-Store Advantage offers businesses the opportunity to expand into the overseas buying market. As the business owner, you have control over setting different tax rates for different products and charging taxes on shipping on a per shipping service basis. The e-Store Advantage platform works with all South African merchant accounts as well as all leading international payment gateways.

Miller explained that from the comfort of their homes at any time, customers can, for example, browse through a company's entire catalogue, choose the products they want to buy, and check out and purchase the items. Moreover, customers can subscribe to products to receive related emails/newsletters.

The e-Store Advantage professional edition provides an e-Commerce solution for business owners to grow their businesses online. The only requirements for e-Store Advantage are a regular PC and an internet connection to access your online store and administer its contents.

“We're overjoyed by the response from the South African market, having till recently focused all our efforts on managing our successful commerce customers in the US. Now that we've secured an innovative rental funding program enabling us to assist companies that don't have access to the upfront development capital generally required to build a robust ecommerce infrastructure we're poised to dramatically grow our South African business,” commented Rolfe.
