The 8th of May sees World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, focusing in South Africa on a three-month emblem campaign, seeking to grow understanding of the organisation's symbolism, as well as to prevent misuse of these highly recognisable emblems.
The new website redesign revamps the site that Fireworkx created after the tsunami disaster in Thailand and brought the role of the Red Cross to renewed public attention. The new site has a more modern and edgy look, and utilises Flash and YouTube hosted video for a rich media experience. The prominent use of red creates a clean and dramatic design unity; while the graffiti-style of the Emblem Campaign print work has been adapted into the icon design.
