Top South African marketers, academics and media fundis are set to share some of their combined expertise with other local marketers and business people following the release of the 2008 version of UCT Unilever Institute of Strategic Marketing's popular marketing and business planning tool, Landscape.
Provided free of charge to current and newly subscribed Institute members, Landscape 2008 is the one-stop South African marketer's guide that has become an indispensable industry staple since its inception in 1998. Available online or on CD, Landscape contains a comprehensive database of information on the South African market summarised into a user-friendly PowerPoint presentation.
Specifically designed and compiled to help make desk research easier, Landscape 2008 provides statistics on numerous topics including the South Africa economy, HIV/Aids, education, consumer spending, employment, poverty crime, tourism and the impact of the 2010 World Cup.
Institute managing consultant, Paul Egan, says that marketers and business people can quickly dip into it to extract some of the country's most up-to-date and pertinent marketing and socio-economic information. Aside from providing quick and easy access to information on everything from the economy to crime, the UCT Unilever Institute members also stand to benefit from the shared insights of industry gurus on the accompanying DVD entitled South Africa: Up and Running.
Up and Running brings the hard facts to life and contains commentary and forecasting by industry experts such as Tim Modise, Professor Andre Roux and The Deal Magazine editor Taweni Xaba, marketing expert Mzamo Masito and a number of SA's top business people.
Commenting on the video, Paul Egan says: "We've edited down over 100 hours of interviews with experts from a number of fields into a 21 minute DVD which offers a short, sharp overview of the South African business and societal landscape."
Landscape is available to all new and existing members of the UCT Unilever Institute. For further details about Landscape, or for information on how to become a member, call 021 650 4633 or e-mail paul.egan@uct.ac.za.
