James Fergusson, the Strategic Head of Sectors at TNS Research Surveys for the ALM Region in Singapore, will be one of three sponsored international speakers at the 2008 SAMRA Conference in Swaziland this May. TNS Research Surveys will be sponsoring Fergusson's attendance and presentation at the 2008 SAMRA Conference.
Fergusson, who has 15 years of experience in market research, brings with him a vast knowledge of online research and the latest innovations in this field. His presentation will challenge the Southern African research industry to embrace online research. The presentation will highlight the impact interactive research on the web can have on client expectations and research value, and Fergusson hopes to encourage the South African Market Research industry to think outside the box by using case studies and examples of how Web 2.0 can be effectively utilized and harnessed.
One of the major advantages of interactive internet research is that it is significantly cheaper to carry out. It also allows companies to conduct focus groups of qualified people from any location, with the results being available much faster than conventional methods. External factors such as traffic will not interfere with internet market research, and results for personal questionnaires may be more reliable as the subject group will not feel inhibition answering personal questions in a secure home environment.
With all of the talk around Web 2.0 in the Southern African marketing industry in recent months, Fergusson's presentation will certainly be a fitting one for the conference's focus on new research developments, new research thinking, new technology and new research methods.
The 2008 SAMRA Conference will take place at the Royal Swazi Sun & Spa in Swaziland from 27 to 28 May 2008. Bookings close on the 10th April.
