Embarrassed Paarl Media donates to Zim victims

In an attempt to lessen the negative fallout from the debacle over being found out to have printed election material for Robert Mugabe, Paarl Media has decided to make a special donation to the people of Zimbabwe.

The Paarl Media statement read: “This is in light of a recent incident, where Paarl Media printed work for a South African company, related to the Presidential run-off election in Zimbabwe. Paarl Media will be partnering with the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.”

In Zimbabwe the Red Cross runs disaster, development and relief programmes which include supplementary feeding programmes and community health training.

Paarl Media will support the disaster, development and relief programme through donating an amount of R300 000 to the Red Cross Society. Paarl Media will continue to partner with the Red Cross Society to evaluate other avenues of assistance going forward.
