From little to big news
Issued by: Pebo Productions

In the last two weeks the Pebo Productions team has been engaged in two annual events for BDFM group through Alto events. The launch of ‘The Little Black Book 2007/08' was held on 24 October followed by the ED Big News Awards on 6 November.

The Little Black Book (LBB) event was staged at Gallagher Estate with all aspects of the production varying from the previous year. A prominent item of the event was the incorporation of a theatre stage production on the program. Guests were welcomed by a grooving solo sax player who was lit up on a small stage in the holding room. A step into the hall gave a sneak preview of the book, graphically displayed on screen with a few flipping pages including a graphic sponsors' video loop.

The program of the event was distinctly separated into sections, i.e. the formal proceeding that included the awards (whose visual presentation was a page-flipping book for the different items) and a live stage production. The stage setup was built to accommodate the two: the formal part of the evening had a black draping background with a small stage for speeches and presentations conducted from a plasma podium (a striking branding feature) and behind the backdrop was a theatre stage set for the Production – ‘Diamonds and Dust'. It was immediately after the formal proceedings came to an end that the concealed (a surprise element) musical play set was revealed using a reveal mechanism designed to drop draping material at a touch of a button.

The inaugural Enterprise Development Big News Awards 2007 were launched at Montecasino's ballroom. Being the first of its kind by Big News the visual creative captured the typical big awards moving lights. A four piece band (Goerge Sax band) was a prominent feature to the program as they opened the evening with a bang in a sequence that was carried by a live voice-over (Reggie Philander of Kaya fm). The event, anchored by Jane van Heeden of Summit TV, was a great success in revealing the first time winners of the ceremony.
