The Mail & Guardian reports that it is being sued R1 million for defamation by Minister of Agriculture and Land Affairs Lulama Xingwana, and PRO Maurice Levin says he's been advised by his attorneys to take legal action against Lew Geffen Sotheby's International Realty for dismissing him unfairly, according to Business Day.

Then, The Sowetanwrites that the press ombudsman Joe Thloloe has ruled against a complaint by Sandile Memela, a former journalist who is now a spokesperson for the Ministry of Arts and Culture, brought against the newspaper and its editor-in-chief Thabo Leshilo.

Meanwhile, Deon du Plessis, publisher of The Daily Sun, has written an opinion piece in the M&G Online which defends the tabloid's "South Africa First" stance. The daily newspaper has been accused of contributing to the recent xenophobia through its choice of language.

The four men arrested in connection with the murder of Obed “Tiny” Seluma have had charges against them withdrawn as the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court found no evidence linking them to the murder of the Chicken Licken actor, reports The Times Online.
